Trauma Therapist in Brentwood TN

Hi, I’m Colton.

My path to becoming a therapist began in 2015 during my own struggle with anxiety. Through therapy, I discovered not just relief, but transformation — an experience that inspired me to dedicate my life to helping others find similar healing.

This journey led me to earn a bachelor's degree in psychology followed by a Master's in Marriage & Family Therapy (MMFT) from Trevecca Nazarene University in 2022. I've since specialized in trauma treatment and relational healing through continued training in evidence-based approaches.

I offer individual counseling sessions (both in-person and online), serving clients in Nashville, Franklin and surrounding areas.

Outside the therapy room, you'll find me exploring Nashville's trails, relaxing with my wife and our cat Moo, or lost in science fiction and fantasy novels. On occasion, I'll pick up my bass guitar — an old talent Moo has yet to appreciate.

My trauma-focused approach to therapy involves discovering and processing painful moments that affect our patterns of relating to ourselves and the world. I strive to create a safe environment where we can explore your experiences with curiosity and compassion. Depending on your unique needs, I use the following approaches:

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

  • Brainspotting

  • Somatic Exercises

  • Internal Family Systems

  • Mindfulness

  • Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy
